About Weekend Watcher by Akilesh Kumar

Weekend Watcher isn’t just a blog — it’s a love letter to cinema.

Hi — I’m Akilesh Kumar

I’m a lifelong cinema geek, storyteller, and critic at heart. That passion is what drives Weekend Watcher today.

As a kid, I lived and breathed movies. Four films a day wasn’t unusual — and I loved retelling every scene, every dialogue, and every twist to anyone who would listen. Today life is busier. Weekdays are packed, and We barely get the time to watch. But weekends? That’s when the screen lights up again. Hence the name: Weekend Watcher.

Here, you’ll find reviews written with heart — no spoilers, no hype, no gossip. Just honest thoughts from me, Akilesh Kumar, a fan who still believes that a movie can change your mood, your perspective, maybe even your life.

From Hollywood blockbusters to Kollywood dramas, from rom-coms to horror, from Scorsese’s crime epics to Vetrimaaran’s raw realism — if it’s good, it has a place here.

Our review system

clear 5-star ratings + honest no-spoiler reviews

Every film receives a concise 5-star rating that balances craft and enjoyment. I write as a fan — spoiler-free and helpful for your weekend pick.

  • Masterpiece
  • Great
  • Average
  • Below Average
  • Bad

But ratings are just numbers. What really matters are the stories, the emotions, and the conversations we share. Jump in: tell me what you loved, what you hated, and what I should watch next.
